show on Saturday October 10th, 2pm, in Inverness. They are general 
admission seating. Selling for cost - $45 for the pair. This show is

When Sandy MacIntyre left his home in Inverness, Cape Breton at age 
19, he didn't expect to spend his entire adult life in Toronto. But 
that was what happened. He had been raised in a musical family with 
both parents fiddlers and his father a Gaelic singer. Lonesome for 
the music he grew up with, Sandy took up the fiddle and eventually 
became the Toronto connection for all Cape Breton musicians. He 
linked up with other exiled Cape Bretoners to bring musicians to 
Toronto for Cape Breton style dances and help keep the music alive. 
He hosted weekly sessions at the Bow and Arrow pub for many years, 
and when that venue closed he found another and he continues to this 
day. Sandy is a versatile musician, a prolific composer and arranger, 
but first and foremost an inspiring teacher. His students sing his 
praises and credit him with their success. Today we pay tribute to 
Sandy, to thank him for all he has done to preserve the music. His 
Toronto family band Steeped in Tradition, will join him for this 
concert in the beautiful St. Matthew's Church in his beloved 
Inverness. At Sandy's request will be some of his "teacher's pets", 
former students Colin Grant, Kimberley Fraser and Dawn & Margie Beaton.
