For those of you around Cape Breton this week-end, the Lake Ainslie Weavers & Craft Guild will be hosting a FIBRE FESTIVAL at the Scotsville School of Crafts this Saturday, November 14th from 11-2 in honour of the 2009 INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF NATURAL FIBRES. Demonstrations will be held in various fibre crafts; weaving, spinning, knitting, locker hooking, needle felting, and more.
Beginners welcome! This is your chance to try a craft you've always wanted to know more about, to learn a new skill or tricks of the trade.
In special attendance will be Belfast Mini-Mills of PEI who will have various yarns, fibres and kits available for purchase including merino, silk, mohair, bamboo and alpaca blends and hand-dyed spinning fibres.
Door prizes and a light tea will be provided.
