Apologies for a poor choice of wording: the original Cottars have not 
been together since 2006 and are “defunct” in that sense. I knew that 
and also knew that two of the original Cottars, joined by two others, 
had formed a new band. I didn’t realize, however, that the new 
configuration was continuing to perform as “the Cottars”. You can find 
the new band’s web site and its 2009 touring schedule at 
<http://www.thecottars.ca/>; the news section also has information from 
the band’s original incarnation.
