For the last several years the Glendale celebration has consisted of a single "Pastoral Airs" concert on Sunday afternoon. It's really great to see that they are coming back to the week-end format and we're looking forward to it.

Maybe it was before churches went to the Saturday evening mass format, but the first drive in mass we ever went to was at Glendale. The Sunday afternoon concert, held in the outdoor arena east of the church, began with a full mass. The elderly sometimes drove right onto the field, ringing the audience on the benches. The priest went from car to car offering communion. Then the concert would begin. Those much faded t-shirts saying "Ceilidh in the Glen" date back to those days. Since then we've been to a few more of those drive in masses but I'm not sure I've ever seen communion at the car door again. Bravo, Glendale. We wish you great success!!!
