Cape Breton Guide

Hello:

I think your idea for a Cape Breton Guide is an excellent one. Last summer
my friend and I took a trip down to C.B. and while I have a pretty good idea
of the layout of the land so-to-speak, I had to go from website to website
looking for accommodations and actual dates and times for fiddle events.
Having the option to just go to one site for everything would have made our
planning much simpler. Some sites would mention the name of an event, but
exact locations were somewhat sketchy.

I didn't notice the Judique Intrepetive Centre on your site. We attended a
Ceilidh there on a Sunday afternoon and it was just great. There were some
very talented fiddlers (Kinnon Beaton, Natalie MacMaster, Andrea Beaton,
etc.) A couple sitting at our table who were from Boston had to ask us who
the fiddlers were????. .... and while I knew, some of 'tourists' did not.
(They apparently were only driving through and noticed the sign by the
building) It would have been nice had the organizers first, welcome the
audience who came to listen, and last but not least, introduce the
musicians. I'm not meaning this comment to sound negative in any way, but
for those who are not entirely familiar with Cape Breton artists, it would
have been a nice touch to at least introduce the fiddlers. Not sure if this
customary, or just an oversight.

Great site.

Regards, Mary
