Hello, Marcello,

My apologies for not having responded more rapidly; I've been away for
the holidays and without computer access.

I know the feeling: I've been unable to interest any of my family very
deeply in Celtic music either, though, as a bachelor, I have an easier
time of it getting out to concerts than you do. While there's lots of
Irish music in this area, I usually have to drive several hours from
here to find the traditional Scottish music I love. Fortunately, every
now and again a Cape Breton musician will take pity on us and come down
to New England; we've also been lucky to have Kimberley Fraser in
residence at the Berklee School of Music in Boston for the past and
present years. This coming week-end, there's a Cape Breton dance at the
Canadian-American Club in Boston with Doug Lamey (Bill Lamey's grandson)
and Kimberley Fraser and friends; at this remove, the weather looks like
it's going to be possible for me to be there and I'm really looking
forward to it!

I found this very interesting reading. It looks like you have quite a
vibrant Celtic music scene in Italy; I had no idea the music was so
popular there, so I thank you very much for these links. I note mention
of the Trigallia Celtic Festival which drew 25,000 attendees-that's a
larger crowd *by far* than any similar festival I have attended here. I
see a number of events featuring Celtic music all over Italy. I hope you
are able to at least occasionally attend some of these events.

I trust you and your family had a joyous and merry Christmas and I wish
you and the rest of the CB music list the best of new years.
