Chiasson-Cormier assault trial in February
Fri. Dec 19 - 5:42 AM
PORT HOOD — The wife of a Cape Breton musician pleaded not guilty Thursday to assaulting him.
Hilda Chiasson-Cormier, 46, who appeared briefly in Port Hood provincial court, will go to trial on Feb. 17 for allegedly assaulting her husband, J. P. Cormier.
Court conditions require that Ms. Chiasson-Cormier only contact her husband on the telephone, her lawyer said Thursday.
Kevin Patriquin could not say whether the couple were separated now or parted on Nov. 12, when the assault allegedly occurred.
The roots and bluegrass guitarist was not believed to be in court, his wife’s lawyer said.
