PEI's Vishten records LIVE album at the Mack

Mont-Carmel, April 9, 2008 - At last, all the energy and spirit of the
group Vishten will be available on a live recording; and Island music
fans will be of the live recording sessions during two concerts at the
MacKenzie Theatre in Charlottetown on April 18 and 19.

One year following the release of their second album, 11:11, which won
this year's ECMA for Francophone Recording of the Year, Vishten felt
it was time capture the festive spirit of their live performances on a
new recording.

"No doubt all the magic happens on stage," says group member Pastelle
LeBlanc. "The warmth and enthusiasm that we feel from our audience is
addictive! We all agreed that a live recording was the best way to
convey the true essence of our music."

For these young Prince Edward and Magdalen Islanders, it's a chance to
reconnect with Island fans. Recently back from a 2-month, 25-show
European tour of which took them from Holland to France to Belgium,
the group's energy is at its highest. So, fans should be ready for a
toe-tapping good time!

During the two shows at the Mack, the group will revisit old
favourites from their first two albums, and of course, unleash some
brand new material. The harmony of their voices married with the
energy of the rhythms that characterizes their form of traditional
Celtic-Acadian music gathers intensity upon contact with the public.
All it takes is for the LeBlanc sisters to start a jig and the crowd
is hooked!

The group is composed of Pastelle LeBlanc (accordion, piano, voice,
stepdance), Emmanuelle LeBlanc (bodhran, flute, piano, voice,
stepdance), Pascal Miousse (fiddle, mandolin, guitar, voice) and Elmer
Deagle (banjo, guitar, fiddle). For the recording sessions Vishten has
also invited former member, Remi Arsenault to join them.

The live album will be released later this summer, but fans can take
advantage of a pre-release sale by reserving an album for only $15
before May 9th. You can do so at the shows April 18 and 19 or by mail
by sending a cheque to: Vishten, 5710 Route 11, Mont-Carmel,
Wellington STN, PEI, C0B 2E0. Be sure to include your name, address,
phone number and email address.
