Hello!

I answer to most anything, but am usually just Vic.

Thank you.

Sorry about that. I don’t know where that extra syllable came from—when
I reread my message, I spotted it and immediately sent the correction.

Some of the “imitators” are very good indeed! David Greenberg is
probably the best known example in contemporary Cape Breton music.
Originally from Maryland and a classically trained baroque violinist
(he’s plays in the well-known group Tafelmusik), he’s become a fine Cape
Breton fiddler, though I’ve not, alas, heard him in Cape Breton in a few
years now. See
	<http://www.marquisclassics.com/artists/greenberg_bio.html>
for more information about him. And Jerry Holland, of course, wasn’t
born in Cape Breton either. So, give those “naive imitators” a break and
listen to them without prejudice; you may be pleasantly surprised.

I, for one, would very much enjoy hearing about the status of Cape
Breton and other Celtic music in Italy (and elsewhere in Europe). How
many of your friends share your taste for the music? What groups from
Cape Breton have you heard? What touring and concert opportunities for
Cape Breton groups exist in Italy? Do you travel to Celtic Europe
(Celtic Connections concert in Scotland, for example, or visit Ireland
or Scotland or Brittany or Galicia)? How many Italians play the music?
How well do they play it? Why are Italians interested in Celtic music?
How available is Celtic music on Italian television or radio? Etc.

Indeed. Google has made it possible to find information that would
otherwise be completely out of reach and to share audio and video clips,
such as the one which led to this thread. It is invaluable to me.

Absolutely! Here in New Jersey, pizza (and great Italian food in
general) is as widespread and widely liked as the greeting.

All the best.
